They say Indrid Cold — The Smiling Man — comes from the planet Lanulos, a messenger of strange and unknown things. It’s fitting, then, that he’s the spirit behind our signature fuzz: something eerily familiar yet undeniably alien, beckoning you to step beyond the edge of the familiar and into the unknown. Like the image on the pedal — a man waiting just beyond the treeline — Indrid Cold invites you deeper into sonic territory where curiosity and caution walk hand in hand.
The Details:
Indrid Cold is a high gain transistor fuzz fronted with an asymmetric soft-clipping op amp gain stage and followed by an active tone control that can be bypassed when you want that little extra to cut through the mix. It is exceptionally quiet when there is no signal and plays well with all pickups and very responsive to your pick attack and playing.
Each pedal is hand-wired with all through-hole components in The Cryptotone Cavern — our hidden workshop beyond the outskirts of Austin, Texas. Built with care, love, and nothing but trusted parts:

Controls:
Volume – Master output level.
Sag – Starves the circuit voltage, dragging your fuzz from full-bodied growl to fractured, sputtering collapse.
Bass – Shapes the rumble beneath your sound.
Treble – Slices through the gloom with high-end bite.
Tone Lift – Cuts the tone control loose, unleashing Indrid Cold's voice in its most unhinged, unfiltered form.
Bypass – Engage or silence the signal.
