The Everlasting Tantrum Instruction Manual
Share

The Everlasting Tantrum is an homage to an unreleased pedal from two titans of the industry with additional features making it something completely different while remaining true to the roots of a nasty fuzz. This pedals works well for both guitar and bass.
Effect Signal Flow
The signal starts at the IN and when engaged, first enters the INPUT control which acts as a cut to the incoming signal. Fully CCW is full signal and moving CW cuts the signal. I'd suggest leaving this fully CCW or fairly close to it for most use cases. Next, the signal enters the fuzz section.
In the fuzz section there are two controls for this: OSC (oscillation) and MODE. OSC creates a tunable feedback of your signal as you turn it CW. Set fully CCW there is no oscillation. Depending on how much you enjoy drone notes and chaos feel free to adjust this as you see fit. MODE unlocks three different modes of fuzz. If you are using a guitar there is not much difference in two of the modes unless you are in a lower tuning such as C standard or using a bass guitar.
From the fuzz, we enter the tone stack and there are two controls worth noting here: TONE and BYPASS. TONE presents a standard Ram's Head style tilt tone control with one side emphasizing treble and the other bass. If you wish to bypass the tone control, just flip the BYPASS switch and the tone section will be bypassed. After this, it enters a boost section where the signal is boosted before entering the final control.
Finally the signal will hit the LEVEL control where you can set the output of the effect. As with every pedal, fully CCW is no sound and full CW is all the sound.
Starting Point Configuration
A good starting configuration for this pedal without any oscillation is:
- LEVEL - to taste
- INPUT - fully CCW
- OSC - fully CCW
- TONE - noon
- BYPASS - tone stack engaged
- MODE - center
If you'd like oscillation, I would adjust OSC CW to right before self oscillation occurs without playing a note. Then when you begin to play, the oscillation will kick in with your playing.
